I can’t say enough wonderful things about the Dome Hotel in Riga! We were in Riga to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and the hotel staff went above and beyond to make it an occasion to remember. Upon our arrival, they surprised us with treats and a bottle of fizz in the room to celebrate – such a thoughtful touch that set the tone for our stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, taking the time to mark must-visit spots in Riga on a map and even recommending some fantastic cocktail bars. Their local knowledge and personal attention made exploring the city so much more enjoyable. Breakfast each morning was a highlight – delicious, freshly made dishes served with care. On the day of our city tour, they were kind enough to prepare coffees to go, ensuring we started our day on the right foot. It’s little things like this that make a big difference. The service, ambiance, and overall experience were fantastic, and we’re already looking forward to staying at the Dome Hotel again in the future. If you’re heading to Riga, this is the place to be – it’s a gem! Thank you to the wonderful team for making our trip so special.

Key features: perfect location and oodles of character. 14th century origins of building inevitably constrain room layout but full credit to the architects for making it work. Facilities are limited to small sauna, steam room and cigar room (tiny, but could be viewed as cosy). Notable absences: Fitness facilities and a proper lounge area. But pretty much what you’d expect for 15 room hotel. Staff are notably friendly and willing, and indie ‘cool’. But regular chain-hotel visitors may find the lack of systems and staff training disappointing. Service at breakfast goes to pieces if more than five guests! Leisure tourists may happily forgive this as endearing amateurish. It’s part of the charm. Business visitors likely to find it irritating. And there’s no business centre or facilities at all.

The location is perfect for a first-time visitors, but also for those who are in love of Riga’s Old Town. The room is spacious (I’ve got a Suite), has all the necessities including bathrobe, slippers, dental kit etc. The bathroom is huge with a nice bathtub! The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable both at the reception and breakfast restaurant. There are two saunas and both of them are private - definitely recommend to check the one on the 5th floor, it has a gorgeous view of Dome Cathedral. The breakfast buffet has a wide selection of local products and also some pastries and fruits. Coffee is great and also it’s possible to order straight from the kitchen (Cheese omelette and Eggs Benedict were excellent!)

The location was excellent, central, in the old town and easy walking distance to all of the main attractions, a huge variety of restaurants, cafes and bars. The staff were fantastic, really friendly and helpful and gave us lots of local recommendations. The room was great - spacious, clean, comfortable with good facilities. The breakfast was delicious with a great range of options. Overall, it was good value for money and we would recommend staying at the Dome. We would stay here again when visiting Riga.

The location is perfect, a stones throw from the Christmas market and set in the cobblestone streets of the old town. The hotel itself is stunning, in a beautiful heritage building but with all the modern refinements. Breakfast, including the coffee was delicious. The front desk staff were very helpful, and quick to suggest we try out their sauna overlooking the roofs of Riga. After much research on where to stay The Dome has far surpassed what I was expecting and we’re already looking forward to our return.
